Former WWE Wrestler Matt Cappotelli died at the age of 38 due to a brain tumour. He had taken up the profession in 2003 but was forced to retire in 2007. He also contested in WWE Raw in a tag team contest with Johnny Jeter.
Matt Cappotelli, the former WWE superstar, died on June 29 due to a malignant brain tumour at the age of 38. Brain cancer is deemed to be the reason for his death. The news was announced by his wife, who revealed that he had undergone a surgery exactly one year ago before Cappotelli died. The duo had tied knot in the year 2006.
“Today my love — my strong, sweet, beautiful love — took his last breath at 3:30 a.m. and went Home to be with Jesus…exactly one year after his brain surgery. You think you can be prepared for this when you know it’s coming, but you just can’t. The only person whose comfort I want right now is the one who can’t give it to me,” she wrote on Facebook.
Cappotelli made his wrestling debut in 2003 before retiring from the profession in 2007. He had suffered the brain tumour in 2005. It was cured in 2007 but the disease hit back last year. One year later, the former wrestler died due to brain cancer.
WWE also mourned the death of Cappotelli. Stepanie McMahon, the chief brand officer of WWE, took Twitter to remember Cappotelli and wrote, ""#RIPMattCappotelli You showed everyone what it means to never give up and to always stay positive. It was an honour to know you."
