Reliance Jio Rs.98 vs Airtel Rs.99 Prepaid Recharge Plans Comparison: Benefits, Offers.

Reliance Jio Rs.98 vs Airtel Rs.99 Prepaid Recharge Plans Comparison: Benefits, Offers.

Airtel has now revamped its cheapest prepaid plan. The plan is now aligned to compete with Bharti Airtel’s fiercest competitor Reliance Jio, whose entry-level plan is priced at Rs. 98.

The revised plan now sees Airtel doubling the data quota to 2GB of 2G / 3G / 4G mobile data for the validity period.
The plan is valid for a period of 28 days. Apart from the enhanced data offer, the company is also offering unlimited local calls to all mobile operators.

The plan also includes no data roaming charges and no STD charges for calls to other regions. On top of this, the plan offers 100 free SMS per day throughout the validity period.

Airtel’s Rs.99 Prepaid Recharge Plan: Features

Airtel had revised this plan a few months back and had extended limited benefits including 2GB mobile data for users for the validity period.

This plan was available only for a select set of users and select telecom circles. However, no call related benefits were extended during the previous revision.

Now Airtel is all set to go toe to toe with Reliance Jio with this new offer after the introduction of voice call benefits to users.

Originally the plan had only offered 1GB of mobile data under the Rs. 99 plan, but with the refresh, India’s largest telecom company has doubled up on the free data on offer under the plan.

Reliance Jio’s Rs.98 Plan: Features
Compared to Airtel’s plan, Reliance Jio’s entry-level plan is the Rs. 98 plan that offers 2GB of 4G mobile data to users with unlimited voice calls (with no FUP limits) to all mobile operators across the country.

The plan’s validity period is 28 days. The plan also levies no roaming charges on calls as well. However, the limitation is that this plan only offers 300 free SMS throughout the validity period.

The entry-level prepaid plan also offers access to Reliance Ji’s in-house entertainment portal – MyJio apps that provide music, video, and movie streaming to Reliance Jio’s users.

Airtel vs Reliance Jio:

Here is a comparison of the entry-level plans from Airtel and Reliance Jio:

The plan is certainly more cost-effective than Reliance Jio’s entry-level plan when considering that it offers 100 free SMS per day compared to Jio’s 300 SMSs for the entire validity period.
Airtel’s Other Plans:

The telecom war between the two privately owned players has been heating up every single day, with each company trying to outdo the other by offering competitive plans.

The Sunil Mittal owned Airtel had just recently revised its Rs. 149 prepaid recharge pack to keep up with Reliance Jio.

The plan now offers 2GB data per day along with unlimited local and STD calls, no roaming charges and 100 free SMS per day for a validity period of 28 days.

Another low-cost plan introduced by the telecom giant is the Rs. 399 plan where it offers 2.4GB of mobile data per day with unlimited voice calls including local and STD, no roaming charges and 100 free SMS per day.

This plan was also valid for a period of 28 days.

However, unfortunately, Airtel quickly rolled back both the Rs.149 plan and Rs. 399 plan and now these plans offer the original data benefits of 1GB per day and 1.4GB per day of mobile data, respectively.
