If you own an Apple device like an iPhone or MacBook, then you should be aware of the multiple things that the Photos app can do. You can import photos and videos, organise and edit them. There are always videos that are too long to be sent through Mail or Messages and you find the need to trim them down or even if you don’t, you may want to share a small clip of that video with someone. Through the Photos app, you can trim a video by changing the start and stop time from your iPhone, iPad or MacBook. Here are the steps you need to adhere to in order to trim a video:
Editing a video on your iPhone, iPad-
Step-1: Open the Photos app and tap the video that you want to edit.
Step-2: Tap the ‘Edit’ option.
Step-3: Adjust the slider positions on both sides of the video timeline to change the start and stop times.
Step-4: Now, if you wish to preview your video, tap the play button.
Step-5: Tap the ‘Done’ option.
Step-6: Tap ‘Save as New Clip’.
Your edited file will be saved separately as a new video and your original video will remain intact to be used as per your need.
Trimming a video on Mac-
Step-1: Open the Photos app and double-click on the video that you want to edit.
Step-2: While hovering over the video, click, and choose ‘Trim’.
Step-3: Adjust the yellow sliders on both sides of the video timeline to change the start and stop times.
Step-4: Tap the play button to preview your video.
Step-5: Click on ‘Trim’.
If you wish to access the full-length video later, open the video, click, and choose ‘Reset Trim’.
