This ‘dead’ Avengers Infinity War character is still alive, says Benicio del Toro.
Josh Brolin as Thanos in a scene from Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War.
The Collector was apparently killed in a sequence midway through the film when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive at his home to challenge the villainous Thanos.
Benicio del Toro plays the Collector, opposite Zoe Saldana’s Gamora.
Briefly, it seems as if they have the upper hand, only for their hopes to be crushed when it is revealed that Thanos is using the Reality Stone. Thanos obliterates the Collectors home, although we never see his dead body overtly.
“I think he’s alive,” Del Toro told CinemaBlend. “Yeah... I think that you know, I think he’s alive.”
Even if he survived this scene, the Collector would have had to survive Thanos’ finger snap, which ‘killed’ half the universe’s population, including half the Avengers.
While several heroes were reduced to dust in the film’s final moments, characters such as the Collector, Loki and Gamora had met with what appeared to be more conclusive deaths.
